Fee, Payment, and Refund policies for divorce mediation and services.

1. You agree to pay the mediator according to the assigned package rate or hourly rate of $350, charged in half-hour increments for ala cart services. If necessary, travel time will be billed at the above-stated hourly rate.
2. You agree to pay for services in advance.
3. Fees are automatically split evenly between the clients for joint services. The parties can agree that mediation fees will be split unevenly or paid by just one client. 
4. Services provided to clients individually are paid at the full hourly rate. 
5. Should payment not be made in a timely way, the mediator may, in her sole discretion, stop all work on behalf of the clients, including the drafting and distribution of the clients’ agreement, and withdraw from the mediation. 
6. If collection or court action by the mediator is necessary to collect fees and/or expenses under this agreement, any reduced fees will be billed at the full rate, and the prevailing party in any such action and upon appeal will be entitled to attorney fees and costs incurred.

Refunds are applicable in certain circumstances, as detailed below: 

• If you need to cancel services before the commencement of work, you may be eligible for a refund minus a $350 service fee and original credit card processing fee of 2.5%. 
• If services have begun and a refund is requested before the first mediation, a refund may be issued minus services already provided charged at an hourly rate, a $350 service fee, and the original credit card processing fee of 2.5%. Services include phone calls, coaching, exchange of emails, review of documents and financial statements, scheduling mediation, etc. 
• Once mediation has begun, a refund is no longer available. 
• In the event that I am unable to fulfill my obligations and provide the agreed-upon services, a full refund will be issued. 

If you wish to cancel services before commencement, please notify your mediator in writing via email at sharlee@cascademedation.com. Include your full name, contact information, and the services you wish to cancel. Your request will be reviewed and responded to promptly.

You understand the mediator has not accepted your case and will not act as your mediator until you have signed the Agreement to Mediate and payment for services has been made.
